Medication Protocol
Cumberland County Schools is committed to meeting the diverse health needs of our student population. To ensure the safe and effective administration of medications, we have established these guidelines to inform parents and staff about best practices. Please note that school nurses are available in schools one day each week and can respond to emergency situations when needed. However, the school district reserves the right to decline requests for medication administration.
The sole liability assumed by the school system and its personnel is to follow the instructions provided by the parent/guardian and physician. Before we can accept any medication, parents are required to submit a completed Physician's School Medication Form. We encourage parents to explore the services, workshops, and community resources provided by the Office of Health Services in collaboration with the Cumberland County Department of Public Health to support the health and well-being of our students.
