World Language Curriculum

The World Language curriculum implemented by the Cumberland County School System, known as the North Carolina World Language Essential Standards, was developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Implementation began in the 2012-2013 school year. The Standards are organized by proficiency level, rather than grade level or grade span, to embed the multiple entry points for language learning across the K-12 spectrum. Documents below reflect the Essential Standards objectives by standard, strand, and proficiency level. Please click on the desired link to access the documents.
