"Loyd Auman Student Against Hunger" Food Drive

Loyd Auman students are participating in the “Students Against Hunger” food drive sponsored by Second Harvest Food Bank.  The elementary, middle, and high school earning the highest points per participant through donations will be awarded the title, “Leaders in the Fight Against Hunger” and will be featured on WTVD ABC 11 Eyewitness News during the “ABC 11 Together” food drive on December 5th.

“Second Harvest Food Bank is a voice for those struggling to make ends meet.  It is difficult for any student to excel academically when they come to school hungry, so we invite all students, staff, parents, and teachers to join our Students Against Hunger food and fund drive to help feed hungry children and their families in our community. Your participation will make a difference in over 153,000 individuals needing food in our community.” Every student who makes a donation will get entered into the total count of students participating in the food drive.

On November 26-November 30, Loyd Auman will begin collecting nonperishable food items.  Please bring in items or send them with your child. The items suggested as most needed:  peanut butter, cereal, can fruits and vegetables, rice, paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, shampoo), infant products (diapers, wipes, formula, cereal), elderly nutrition drinks (boost, ensure, etc.) canned meals (stews, soups, tuna, ravioli. Please no glass bottles.
